Where to eat off the Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas is home to award-winning restaurants and world-renowned chefs, so it's not hard to find a good meal. But did you know there are many excellent restaurants off the Vegas Strip? Here are a few that we have tried.

Breakfast

Siegel's Bagelmania- Quick take-out or sit-down spot right by the Las Vegas Convention Center is one of the best keep secrets of Las Vegas. All your breakfast favs are under one roof, their quick service area has a couple of different places like Pinkbox Doughnuts, a Bakery, Bagels, and a coffee shop. They also offer a sit-down area with breakfast favorites like pancakes and benedicts, and lunch favorites like sandwiches and soups. They even have a kid’s menu with breakfast basics and lunch sandwiches. What to get? We did take out and got the Hebrew School Bagel Sandwich and the Foxy Loxy Bagel Sandwich. Bagelmaina is open from 6 am to 3 pm. There is a full bar with cocktails, beer, and wine. Private lot available for Parking. If you are going to be at the sit-down restaurant, it is a first come first serve.

Truffles N Bacon Cafe- A busy café south of the Las Vegas strip that serves up creative breakfast dishes, sandwiches, and burgers. Opened in 2014, the owners believed they should create a restaurant with menu dishes that are “outside the box” and fun. Their menu is just that, the classic breakfast dishes are reimagined like ube pancakes and breakfast mac and cheese. There isn’t really a kid’s meal, but our kids loved the pancakes there! What to get? Ube French Toast! Truffle and bacon cafe is open from 8 am to 3 pm but breakfast is served all day. Lines are usually out the door, but you can join the Yelp waitlist before you head to the restaurant. A private parking lot is available.

Lunch

Aloha Specialties - Las Vegas - Hidden in the California hotel is one of the best Hawaiian restaurants in Las Vegas. Take the elevator to the hotel's second floor and you’ll see a small quick-serve restaurant, where you order from the counter, find your seat, and your food will be delivered to you. All your Hawaiian favorites are on the menu from spam musubi, chicken teriyaki, curries, and their popular saimin (noodle soup). What to get? The Aloha Combo Local Plate comes with Teriyaki Beef and Chicken and 2 Spam Musubis or Saimin. This restaurant is open from 9 am to 7 pm at night, it gets busy during lunchtime. There isn’t a kid’s menu, but we always get a small bowl and share our noodles with the kids. There is a private parking garage attached to the hotel which is free with validation.

Shàng Artisan Noodle House is a small shop that always has a wait! They serve up dishes from the northern providence of China with a modern take. Their menu has noodle soups, fried noodles, and rice dishes and for their noodle dish, you get to pick your noodle style either hand-pulled noodles, knife-shaved noodles, or plain noodles. All the noodles are made in-house and in front of you. What to get? Shang Beef Noodle soup is made with beef broth, braised beef brisket, and veggies, this is a little spicy, and my favorite is the Dan-Dan noodles with minced pork, preserved veggies, and spicy sauce. The wait time can go from 20 minutes to 1 hour, but you can use the Yelp Waitlist to put your name down. There is a private lot with plenty of parking reservations taken via Yelp Waitlist or Walk-ins.

Dinner

Chubby Cattle- Where else can you find a hot pot conveyer belt? The concept is super easy, pick your soup base, meats, noodles, veggies, and seafood. Everything here is al a carte, so you pay per topping. Or if you are here with a big group there is the Family Combo that serves up to 4 people. The family combo comes with a mix of seafood, veggies, meat, tofu, noodles, and beef and each person gets to pick their soup base and drink. What to get? For soup base the Oxtail Tomato and then order the family combo so you can get a taste of everything. But if it’s just for two people some of the menu items we would pick out are Meat Japanese A5 Wagyu with egg, Wagyu brisket, purple yam noodles, mixed mushrooms, shrimp paste, and the seafood platter. Reservations and walk-ins are taken at the restaurant, however, it does get busy. Parking is available with a private lot, but the lot is busy, so we suggest getting here a little early to find parking. There isn’t a kid’s meal, but my kids loved the noodles and the soup!

Lotus of Siam One of the most iconic places to eat in Las Vegas, many celebrities, tourists, and locals all visit this spot for some delicious Thai food. They served Northern Thai food classics, but they also have all your Thai favorites! Their menu is extensive, from steaks, seafood, noodles, rice dishes, and dessert. What to order? Khao Soi with Crispy Duck served with served on a bed of egg noodles in a curry base sauce, garnished with sliced red onions, lime, and pickled vegetables; Garlic Prawns Deep fried prawns with shells (almost like potato chips), sautéed with our special garlic sauce, topped with ground black pepper; and Chilean Sea Bass with Ginger Steamed Sea bass topped with our special ginger gravy. Served on top of steamed vegetables. Reservations are taken via Resy or walk-ins are also available but wait times can be long. The best bet, without the reservation, is to come when it opens at 530pm. There is a private parking lot with plenty of parking. There is also a full bar with beer and cocktails

Late Night

Village Pub & Cafe right in the back of the strip is a popular late-night restaurant and brewery with some of the most amazing late-night deals. Their menu is so extensive filled with burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and steaks! They are open 24 hours and 7 days a week with no reservations taken. What to get? We have only tried their Sirloin Steak Special that comes with 2 eggs, any style, toast, and hash browns, and it's under $10, for that price might as well get two. Parking is available via private lot, walk-ins only.
