21 Things to do on the Norwegian Encore

1. Download the Norwegian App...

The app will give you all the things to do on the boat and make reservations for dinner and activities.

2. Make reservations...

All the activities get booked pretty fast, especially activities like go-carts and laser tag. Dinner reservations also book up pretty quickly, like the first day of the cruise. Reservations are also needed for the musicals on board.

3. Can't find a reservation...

Keep trying, many people cancel reservations during the cruise. The same thing with dinner reservations, a lot of people cancel last minute so try walking up to see if there is availability. We were able to find a last-minute reservation for the speedway by checking every day for cancellations

4. Bring a reusable water bottle...

Water stations aren’t everywhere on the boat so it could be a long walk to get some water.

5. Need a Fridge...

With kids, I needed a place to put their snacks. Refrigerators are available in the stateroom usually they are filled with minibar items but just ask your stewards to empty the fridge.

6. Main dining room might have a wait...

Show up to dinner early if you don’t want to wait for a table, if it’s a full ship, waiting for a table in the main dining room can be up to 30 minutes. Peak times are between 6-7 pm, so anytime before or after there shouldn't be much of a wait for a table.

7. The Buffett the 1st day is a madhouse,

Head to the Observation Lounge for a light lunch (Sandwiches, Chips, Dessert). Or just have dessert like we did.

8. Try the Indian Food at the Garden Buffet

The buffet is full of so many food choices but our favorite is the Indian section, so many tasty dishes!

9. Order late-night Burger at the Local

Open 24 hours a day, the local is the perfect meeting spot for food after a long day of drinking. Not only do they have burgers, but they also have chicken wings, fish and chips, sandwiches, and salads.

10. Have a Beer Flight at District Brew House...

Enjoy the ocean views while looking at the extensive beer list! Over 50 different types of beer!

11. Watch a Broadway Show-...

Norwegian has upped their entertainment game by offering the Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots and the Broadway show Choir Man. Reservations need, see instructions to book when you board the boat.

12. Visit the Kids Club...

Need a place for the kids/babies to run away, visit the guppy room and the kids’ center. Babysitters are also available for a fee.

13. Drive around the Encore Speedway

Norwegian is the only cruise line that you can ride go-carts in the middle of the sea! $15.99 will get you 8 minutes on the biggest speedway At Sea. Reservations are needed, book before your cruise or right when you get on board.

14. Play Laser Tag with new friends

Where else can you play laser tag in the lost city of Atlantis? $10/game, reservations needed. It's a beautiful outdoor course with plenty of room to run around and hide from the enemy. Go with you friends or make some new friends here.

15. Go down the Ocean Loop or Aqua Racer at the Encore Aqua Park...

The ocean loop actually hangs from the boat! The Aqua Racer is a tube ride made for a single or double rider.

16. Watch a comedy show at the Social Comedy Club

Family Fun to 18 and over comedy shows every night is a different show. Check out the Norwegian app for showtimes. Reservations are needed for some shows or you'll have to wait on standby/walk-in.

17. Join a Karaoke Night at the Cavern Club

Almost every night there is Karaoke on the Sea, plenty of drinks go around and good vibes to go around. Where else can you sing your heart out to a bunch of strangers

18. Lounge at the Observation Deck

Read a book, take a nap, or snack and drink while enjoying the beautiful ocean views. It's a pretty quiet spot most of the time. Between 3-5pm the observation deck serves sandwiches and dessert. There is also a full bar open.

19. Looking for a nice and quiet place?

Try Deck 8 the Waterfront there are chairs and couches that you can relax at.

20. Hang in the Virtual World

The galaxy pavilion is a virtual reality arcade on the ship. There are so many experiences to have from playing soccer to riding a roller coaster and chasing dinosaurs to racing cars. There is something for everyone at this arcade.

21. Dress to Impress

If you are taking a week-long cruise, the ship’s formal night is usually on the 2nd Night at Sea and the Glow Party at the 6th Night at Sea. Bring your favorite outfit for formal night and your favorite white outfit or neon outfit for the Glow Party.
