Restaurant Review: Eddie V's

Logistics: Opened in 2021, Eddie V’s is El Segundo’s newest fine dining restaurant. Located on what is called restaurant row, Eddie V’ specializes in premium seafood and steak. Eddie V’s has locations all over the United States with four located in Southern California. Dinner is served daily from 4pm to 10pm, Happy Hour is 4:00 to 6:30pm Sunday to Thursday, and the Lounge is open from 4pm to 10pm. Friday and Saturday the lounge times extend to 11pm. Reservations are highly encouraged, you can reserve via Open Table or through the Eddie V’s website. Parking is available in the parking garage behind the restaurant on Apollo Street or Valet with a fee.

Ambience: Eddie V’s is a modern restaurant with a beautiful décor. Dress code is smart casual but I always see people dressed up in the main dining room. The lounge/patio is more the casual work crowd ready to celebrate the weekend. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. Live music is in the lounge everyday. Eddie V’s is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion whether is a birthday or anniversary the staff will always make you feel special. When making a reservation be sure to note its someone birthday or special occasion and they will decorate your table a little bit to celebrate. There are also a couple of private rooms available for larger parties.

Food: Eddie V’s serves an extensive dinner menu from raw bar items like oysters and cocktail shrimp, cooked appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts. All the entrees come al a carte therefore order some sides for the table to share. If there a party of two we suggest two sides we had a party of 5 and ordered four side dishes and took most of it home. A children’s menu is also available that includes mac and cheese, chicken, steak, etc., ask your server for more information. Menu

Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Sautéed Maryland Style with Spicy Chive Remoulade- They mean jumbo, this appetizer is enough to share for 1-3 people. There is real, whole lump crab, like tons of it, that’s why it is a must order at this place.

Mediterranean Branzino- This dish comes with two filets of sea bass then topped with the artichokes, oven-dried tomato, and olive tapenade. This dish was delish, the fish was perfectly cooked and flaky. The skin was crispy to eat and the olive tapenade was also super yummy.

Georges Bank Scallops Sautéed with Citrus Fruit, Roasted Almonds, appetizers, and Brown Butter- This dish comes with 5-6 giant scallops that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Five scallops doesn’t seem like a lot, but with all the sides and appetizer, I actually took half of this dish home.

22oz USDA Prime Bone-In Ribeye- The ribeye was my husband’s favorite, it was marbled and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. The Ribeye was also cooked with a lot of butter which made it so very tasty.

Crab Fried Rice with Mushrooms and Scallions- We were actually surprised how good this fried rice was, there was a lot of butter used we can tell, but it was full of crab and mushrooms. This side was also on the slightly larger size to most of the side dishes.

Truffle Macaroni and Cheese- This was super rich mac and cheese. The cheese sauce was so good, with lots of cheese flavor. The best part of course is the truffle on this dish, honestly, the mac and cheese didn't need the truffle but it was a good plus, and very delish. One of our favorite side dishes and also a must-try at this place.

Hot Chocolate Godiva Cake with Vanilla Bean ice cream- Since we were there celebrating a birthday, they were prepared and had a candle ready on this dessert. This dessert was rich with chocolate, we expected it to be too much chocolate but it was not the case, this cake was so delicious! Even the non-chocolate lovers loved this cake.

Prices: Appetizers: $20-30, Entrée $35-100, Sides $12-20, Dessert $10-14, and Drinks $13-20

Overall: The perfect place for a celebratory dinner, service was amazing, food was delicious and ambiance was beautiful.
